  Jefferson Pipe Band

The band formed in 1985 as the Shasta Pipe Band but the name was changed in the late 1990's to The Jefferson Pipe Band after the mythical state of Jefferson that almost was in 1941. The name more accurately describes the area of Southern Oregon and Northern California in which our members live. The band wears the Modern Lindsay Tartan.

Jefferson pipe band has competed off and on since the early 2000's and for the first time this year we are fielding a grade 4 and 5 band. Our goal is to teach students of all ages to play the Great Highland Bagpipe or Highland drum and to preserve the traditions and music of Scotland. We invite anyone interested to contact us about lessons.

The band is very involved in community activities in and around our areas and many of our members attend various schools and workshops which help us to continue to improve the quality of our playing.

The band started fundraising a couple of years ago in hopes of going to Scotland to compete at “The Worlds” piping competition in Glasgow and thanks to the hard work of the band and the support of our friends and family, we have achieved that goal and will be heading to Scotland this August.

The Jefferson Pipe Band is a 501(c)3 non-profit
