The band wears the County Wexford Tartan and practices on Monday evenings at the United Irish Cultural Center in San Francisco.

In 2012, 2013 and 2014 the Irish Pipers Band of San Francisco was the Western United States Pipe Band Association Grade 3 Champion. For 2017 the band will field competitive units in Grades 2, 4, and d5. The Irish Pipers Band of San Francisco is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

  Jefferson Pipe Band

The band formed in 1985 as the Shasta Pipe Band but the name was changed in the late 1990's to The Jefferson Pipe Band after the mythical state of Jefferson that almost was in 1941. The name more accurately describes the area of Southern Oregon and Northern California in which our members live. The band wears the Modern Lindsay Tartan.

Jefferson pipe band has competed off and on since the early 2000's and for the first time this year we are fielding a grade 4 and 5 band. Our goal is to teach students of all ages to play the Great Highland Bagpipe or Highland drum and to preserve the traditions and music of Scotland. We invite anyone interested to contact us about lessons.

The band is very involved in community activities in and around our areas and many of our members attend various schools and workshops which help us to continue to improve the quality of our playing.

The band started fundraising a couple of years ago in hopes of going to Scotland to compete at “The Worlds” piping competition in Glasgow and thanks to the hard work of the band and the support of our friends and family, we have achieved that goal and will be heading to Scotland this August.

The Jefferson Pipe Band is a 501(c)3 non-profit

  MacIntosh Pipe Band

The MacIntosh Pipe Band is pleased to announce the return of its Grade V competition band this season. Additions to both the pipe and drum corps have enabled us to once again field two competition bands. The Grade IV, under the direction of Pipe Major Janice Richey and Drum Sergeant Robert Cameron, is composed of more experienced players, while the Grade V features many of our newer pipers and drummers. Both bands practice, individually and as a single unit, in Marin County, just north of San Frnaicsco. The band draws palyers from several Bay Area counties and has been in existence for over three decades. Beyond competitions, a variety of events fill the bnad's calendar, including parades, concerts, festivals, fairs, and private engagements. Although most events are local, the Macs have traveled as far as Salt Lake City, Seattle, Puerto Vallarta, Moab, Missouri and Scotland to entertain new audiences. In addition to pipers and drummers, dancers and guest musicians contribute to the success of the ban's year-round performance schedule. The band has a close working relationship with the San Jose School of Highland Dancing.
New players are always welcome
